Guatemala City North Mission

...let us labor diligently: for if we should cease to labor, we should be brought under condemnation for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God. Moroni 9:6

Video Conference with Area Presidents

Along with our training we have had the opportunity to speak directly with the Area Presidency for Central America via the marvels of technology...video cameras. We have also been able to be introduced to other mission presidents who will be serving in Central America. The cameras link us in Salt Lake City to those in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and we even had one couple linked from Phoenix, Arizona who joined our conversation.

Training at the MTC

For the past three month months we have been involved with a weekly training session at the MTC in Provo. The purpose is to get us up to speed on the use and teaching of the Church's Missionary program as found in the remarkable book Preach My Gospel.

We've been blessed to have a trainer Bradyn Beesley who has given us some of the most remarkable instruction which we have ever received. Because of this training we have found our confidence increase in our ability to teach and preach the Gospel not only to members but also with our future missionaries.

The Call

Dear Friends and Family, we are commencing on our new life which began for us on Dec 14, 2008. On this day David and I had an interview with President Monson, where he issued to us a call to serve as Mission President and wife beginning late June 2008 until July 1, 2011.

This Blog will serve to keep our friends and family up to date on our experiences as we endeavor to fulfill this calling to the best of our ability.
