Guatemala City North Mission

...let us labor diligently: for if we should cease to labor, we should be brought under condemnation for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God. Moroni 9:6

Learning at the prophets feet

Our MTC experience was one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. We were first met by an extensive staff of people who's sole purpose was to see that we had the instruction that we would need to meet the challenges that would lay before us. Everything was set up in a most organized and wonderful way. This could only happening the True Church. Our family came with us to see us off and give us fond and loveing farewell.

Our training was commenced by having the solemum experience of partaking of the Lord's sacrament in the precence of His prophet seer and revelator and his especial witnesses the Apostles. On the following days we had consecutive training from Elders Richard G. Hinckley, Christofferson, Eyring Perry Nelson, Uchtdorf, Oaks, Hales, Packer, Bednar, and Holland. We received instruction from other MTC staff that was equally inspiring and insightful.

Meeting with Missionary's Parents

June 15, 2008

Today we had the opportunity to speak in the Sacrament Meeting of the Millrace Branch of the Taylorsville Stake. The Spirit was very strong and we felt a very thin veil between us and those who are on the on other side of the veil who have a very keen interest in this work which is our opportunity to be a part of.

Yesterday we had a reception which our children did for us and we were blessed to meet with many special friends but, for us the highlight was having so many of the parents of our missionaries come to meet us. We also met with three of our future missionaries who have received their call to our mission. This has been a weekend which will live with us for the rest of our lives.

Enclosed are the pictures which we took took with these very special people. On Tuesday we will be set apart by President Boyd K. Packer and on the 21st we will report to the MTC for training with the First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve and the Seventy and on the 26th we fly to Guatemala.
